Alan Devonshire (named after the ex-West Ham player) ran in the Derby
"I met Alan Devonshire a couple of years ago when he came up with Russell to see the horse named after him. I can state that he is the most lovely, unassuming man. A fantastic footballer - the like of which we very rarely see today. If it had not been for his injury, he would have finished on a par with Georgie Best, Pele – and of course Johnny Fanthom! He and his family have had tremendous fun following Alan Devonshire all over the country with the climax today of the Derby. ."
