Locum
REPORT BY JENKO - 13TH NOVEMBER
'Locum missed his entries at Lingfield this week as Mark prefers his Wolverhampton engagement on Monday. He will be trying 1m 4 furlongs for the first time and has given every indication he will stay the trip. He remains in top form and another good run from him looks on the cards.
'Mark is very pleased with Supera and although no entries at present says that she will be back on the track as soon as he can find a suitable race.
'Jacobite Prince has been gelded and taken the operation very well, he will soon be on his way to Garrowby for a break and return shortly after Christmas. The op and rest will do him the world of good says Mark and we can expect him to confirm the promise he has shown to date.
'Creative is recovering nicely from his op and is on the walker daily.
'Four Miracles is now at Garrowby and will return shortly after Christmas.
'And No Rules who still looks a picture with his winter coat is in good health and cantering daily.
'I will be talking to Mark about the new yearlings before my next report.'

"Strong, attractive filly and half-sister to 5 winners, from a very fast family, she is cantering well on the heath and showing plenty of promise."
One of the pioneers of multiple ownership, Mark Tompkins is continuing his successful syndicates in 2008. One-twelfth shares in horses are available, and we keep things simple.

Jenko runs the syndicates for Mark and is the main point of contact for all the members. An ex-amateur jockey who also used to ride out at Flint Cottage on a regular basis, Jenko shares his enjoyment of the sport with the members via e-mail, telephone and in person.

HOW WE OPERATE
- All net prize-money won and the proceeds of any sale are divided proportionately between members.
- Our owners are welcome to visit the yard to see their horses in training on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
- One complimentary owners' badge is guaranteed per member when your horse runs.
- There is no limit to the number of shares an individual, or group of people, can hold.
- Some members have been with us since the 1980s which is testament in itself to the enjoyment these syndicates bring.
Once a twelfth share has been purchased, a monthly payment of £170 to be paid retrospectively (starting from January 1st 2008) is required to cover all keep costs. A discount of 10% is offered for a full year's payment in advance and a 5% discount on future purchases for anyone introducing a new owner.
There will be nothing more to pay, other than in exceptional circumstances such as travel to race abroad or unusual veterinary bills. The monthly payment covers basic training costs, insurance for original yearling purchase price (against mortality), entry fees, travel to meetings, jockey fees, farrier's charges etc.
It is the responsibility of each individual member to sell his or her share if they wish to leave the syndicate, although obviously we would help with this as far as possible. If payments are not received for two successive months the share will be deemed to have lapsed, and will be lost with no refund or prize share due.
We are a friendly lot at Flint Cottage Stables, and Mark is always approachable at the races or at home.
